Our starting point is Eland Lodge Equestrian Centre (DE6 5HD), where unlike many popular rambling hotspots, you will find ample, hassle-free parking - so you can begin your walk relaxed and stress-free.

Simply purchase an item from our in-store shop or coffee shop—whether it's a cup of tea, a bottle of water, or a new pair of walking boots—and you'll receive a free trail map and a voucher. Use the map to explore one of our three scenic, marked hiking trails, each featuring a stop at a charming eatery along the way. When you arrive, redeem your voucher for a tasty discounted refreshment—perfect for fuelling your adventure or relaxing mid-walk.

Trail 1: Walk to Newborough and Enjoy a Cream Tea

A short and sweet 3.1 mile route with a stop at The Old Baker’s Cottage Café. Head along rural trails to the small and picturesque village of Newborough, situated to the northwestern side of Needwood Forest, where you’ll discover the delightful Old Baker’s Cottage Café.

Enjoy a classic cream tea for the special price of just £5.95 (normally £7.80), or a free Americano coffee when you purchase any cake.This is a cosy spot, perfect for a mid-walk treat..

Trail 2: Hike to Hanbury and Relax at The Cock Inn Pub

A 7.1-mile hike with breathtaking views and a refreshing treat at the finish.Trail two is a longer route of approximately 7.1 miles towards historic Hanbury and the spectacularly positioned Cock Inn pub.

It’s elevated position provides unmatched views overlooking the Dove Valley, Weaver Hills and the Derbyshire Dales.Quench your thirst with a refreshing pint and enjoy a free back snack, or use your token for a free soft drink/half pint.

Trail 3: Woodland Walk to Draycott-in-the-Clay and The Roebuck

Leafy paths and craft ales await at this charming local brewery stop.

Follow the 7.2 mile marked trail along leaf-strewn paths, bordering serene woodland and you'll reach the village of Draycott-in-the-Clay, where a stop at a charming local brewery awaits.

The Roebuck is a friendly and welcoming venue where you can enjoy their selection of own-brewed craft ales. Sample a selection of ales with friends, as you can enjoy their special offer of a free pint when you buy any two pints.
