Part Time Yard Groom

We’re looking for a flexible, reliable and hard-working Yard Groom to join our friendly Livery Yard team with immediate start.

You must be confident and competent handling horses, and able to carry out all basic yard duties (including turnout/bring in, mucking out, general yard duties).

 This position is part time: 7.30am – 4pm on Wednesday and additional week day, with holiday cover available.

Applicants must be aged 16+. We are not on a public transport route, so you will need to have access to transport.

We are near Draycott-in-the-Clay (DE6 5HD), which is easy to get to from Uttoxeter, Burton, Lichfield and Ashbourne.

Event Secretary

We are looking for a self-motivated, organised individual to take up the role of Events Secretary here at Eland Lodge. This key position will offer the right candidate the chance to combine their organisational talent with a love of equine sport to deliver a successful calendar of events for all levels of ability from entry level unaffiliated events to BE, BD and BS Affiliated competition and exciting National Championships.

The successful candidate will drive the production of the annual event calendar and thereafter take responsibility for the delivery of each event, organising all office-based elements core to the successful delivery of each one, including, but not limited to:

-Booking Judges, Officials and Stewards.
-Contacting and confirming Volunteers.
-Attending meetings with the various governing bodies of the sport and subsequently incorporating changes into our events
-Providing secretarial support at our events throughout the year
-Ensuring excellent communications with all key stakeholders.
-Providing the best customer service to all event competitors.

This is a full-time position but by the fundamental nature of the role the work patterns will vary considerably from one week to the next and from one month to the next throughout the year. The successful candidate will have the ability to schedule their workload to reflect this. Obviously, weekend working will be a feature of this post particularly in the summer months.

Reports to: The position reports directly to the Company Secretary, with additional support from the rest of the management team.

Retail Assistant Manager

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in retail/sales, an in-depth knowledge of all things equine and a desire to succeed both personally and professionally. Equine knowledge should cover all the key competition areas. IT literacy is another important requirement with the applicant being able to demonstrate competence over a range of programmes.

-Duty manage in the absence of the shop manager
-Champion new ways of working within the store through an open mindset and positive attitude
-Lead colleagues in delivery of task, prioritising the customer first
-Drive on-the-job productivity
-Support colleagues through coaching and feedback
-Provide relevant and timely feedback to shop manager to support colleague performance
-Cash handling
-Support the retail manager in delivering a safe working environment -Role model great customer service and lead the team in delivering a customer first approach
-Ensure stock accuracy to ensure product availability
-Manage the returns process to ensure prompt resolutions
-Oversee customer orders Coach the team to deliver excellent standards of product presentation
-Support Shop Manager with stock ordering
-Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a developing environment

This vacancy is for a full time Assistant Retail Manager working 37.5 hours over 5 days, which will include at least one day over the weekend.
