The Equilibrium Field Relief Fly Rug is made with your horse’s comfort in mind. The Field Relief Fly Rug will keep your horse protected from the flies whilst keeping them cool and able to move freely. With a unique hexagonal pattern tested to reduce fly landings by 51% on average when compared to other fly rugs*.

This ears to tail protection fly rug allows your horse to move and keep them cool. Features like the unique shoulder shaping, as well as a wither relief panel and anti-rub lining, offers space and allows your horse to move with ease.

Whilst in creating several colours and patterns were tested for this rug to see which one flies liked landing on the least. The monochrome hexagonal print had less than half the amount of fly landings when compared to other plain and coloured rugs*, and therefore influenced the design.

A quick dry, Lycra panel lines the top of the neck allows a snug fit for protection against flies while preventing against rubbing. The use of a separate Lycra panel also eliminates the need for a silky satin lining inside the fly rug mesh, offering a more breathable option with less material. This neck panel then feeds down to the wither relief panel which is designed so there are no seems on the sensitive and prominent wither area. 

Going down from this is the unique shoulder relief shaping, made with extra material to allow your horses shoulder to move without restriction. The mesh of the rug is designed to be close enough to restrict biting insects, but open enough to keep the horse cool when the temperatures are warmer. Finally, the material protects against the sun’s harmful rays, offering 77% UVA and 90% UVB protection.

*Field Relief Fly Rug Testing Results from Equilibrium Our aim was to determine which fabric print or colour choice had the least amount of fly landings. While this testing was conducted by ourselves in the development stage of the fly rug product, our test method was based on a combination of the methods used by the professors from the University of Bristol and other previous studies that investigated fly landings on cattle. We tested a total of 6 different fabrics of identical size and created baited ‘landing zones’ for flies. We recorded these zones for a total of 6 hours, before repeating this on 3 separate occasions and an average was taken from this.

Ordering and dispatch times

Orders placed before 1pm will be dispatched on the same day (Monday - Friday). Orders placed after 1pm may be dispatched on the next working day. Orders are not dispatched on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Our Couriers

Certain areas of the UK will be subject to an additional postage fee (approximately £10 per order), regardless of the order value. Standard delivery will take between 2-5 days, next day delivery is not available in these areas:

We use DPD Local and Royal Mail to make sure your parcel gets to you quickly and safely.

Signing for your parcel

Many of our parcels require a signature upon delivery to ensure they are received safely.

Please provide us with an address where someone will be in - we can deliver to friends, family, neighbours or your workplace – please provide this alternative address in the delivery address field.
If you’d prefer your parcel to be left in a safe place, please make a note of this in the delivery comments box. Delivery to your safe location will be at your own risk.
Please note that we cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
Eland Lodge will not be held responsible for or issue refunds for items that are damaged or lost after the items have been successfully delivered to your selected delivery address.

If you’re out when the courier attempts to deliver they will leave an information card for you, this will state:

If the courier will attempt re-delivery (delivery will be attempted a total of 2 times)
If the courier has left your order in your nominated safe place
Whether you need to arrange collection from your local depot

Tracking your parcel

Once your order is ready for dispatch we’ll provide you with a tracking number and courier, so that you can track your parcel on their website.

If there could be a delay

We always do everything we can to get your parcel to you on time. If we think that there may be a delay with your parcel we will contact you to let you know (and if you’re not happy with the revised delivery date we will of course cancel your order and refund you in full).

There are some unforeseen circumstances that can prevent your parcel arriving on time that are out of our control, such as: courier breakdown, extreme weather and illness.

Problem with your delivery?

If you receive your parcel and believe that it’s damaged or something is missing, please let us know straight away and keep your packaging/delivery note. Our helpful team will get this sorted for you as quickly as possible.

Click & Collect

If you’ve chosen click and collect your order will be ready to collect from our store within 2 working hours. We will hold your item for one month (unless you’ve requested an item be held until a specific date) – if it’s not collected by this time you will be refunded and the item returned to our store.

International delivery

This is not a service that we currently offer. However, if you wish to arrange parcel forwarding with a third party, we can deliver within the UK.
