However great the financial investment in facilities - in our case, upwards of half a million pounds - the key asset of any business is its people. At Eland Lodge we have assembled a friendly, able and vastly experienced team, covering a very broad swathe of the equestrian sporting profile; our mix of exceptional facilities and helpful staff is second to none.
Livery Yard Manager
Amie comes to us from her previous job as a manager of a successful Horse Importing company, where she brought on youngsters imported from across the continent. She has been involved with horses since early childhood, competing in all disciplines.
Amie’s equine education is varied, with an Extended Diploma Level 3 in Equine Management at Brooksby Melton College. Amie then went to the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester and completed BSc (Hons) Equine Science Management degree.
She has a particular interest in youngstock and bringing on of young competition horses, and is used to dealing with horses at all levels of training.
With a commitment to providing the highest level of Horse Care, Amie is a fantastic addition to Eland Lodge, and is settling in well. She aims to continue to support all our liveries to enable them to achieve the highest level within their horse ownership and riding, from the hobby rider working with their horse on the ground, to top level competition.
Jo previously worked in an Aerospace Engineering office, and came to Eland Lodge after looking to transfer her skills back to an Equestrian based business. Jo worked for many years in local riding stables as a Riding Instructor and Pony Club Centre Instructor, prior to attending University and for a period afterwards. She has a BSc (Hons) in Zoology, with an MSc and DIC in Evolution from Imperial College London. Following this she went on to study for a Chemistry degree through the Open University, attending Keele University to complete a PGCE in Secondary Science.
Jo is keen to provide a friendly, welcoming service at Eland Lodge, offering advice for those who are looking to compete for the first time. She strongly believes that competing, even over a single pole on the floor, can help develop the relationship between horse and rider further, and help no end with confidence, allowing people to get all they can out of their hobby. She competes at a low level in all disciplines with her Irish Draught Sport Horse, Ted, and has ridden to County Level in Hunter Showing.
