Based on an American barn style the livery yard allows a genuine community to develop within the horses under our care. We have a total of 28 boxes, 22 in the main barn, all twelve-foot square, arranged in two rows of eight facing one another and a separate row of 6. The boxes themselves were supplied new by Bradmores of Nottingham and the specification includes a corner upright hay manger, a rotating feed bucket and an automatic water drinker, some of the boxes have solid partitions while half have a viewing grill so neighbours can have as large a degree of contact as they or their owners wish, in addition, half of the boxes have a window onto the outside of the barn making them especially suitable for horses on box rest, or for those with dust allergies. Additional facilities in the livery barn include a secure, alarmed tack room, CCTV, adequate storage space for your essential equipment, rug hanging rails, solarium and a well lit wash area for grooming, clipping, plaiting and bathing with hot running water. We also have an additional 6 outside stables, including an isolation stable for new arrivals.
In addition to the excellent accommodation, the care the horses receive is of the highest standard. 24 hour supervision 365 days a year is provided by our friendly, knowledgeable staff for your horses essential routine and your peace of mind. Top quality haylage or hay and shavings are included in the livery, along with the complete range of Sweet Meadow hard feeds and chaffs from Dengie. Feeding plans are developed with the horses owners as well as a livery package tailored to your individual needs to include grooming and exercise of your horse if required.
Our standard horse livery includes:
Extra services that can be added to your standard horse livery to make a tailor made package
As a livery client, the all weather surface is at your disposal through the booking system, the cross-country course is also available for use with the menage and the hacking resource of the site being fully included in the livery fee. We also have a Claydon 5 horse walker. In addition to the training resources we have an extensive list of competitions and clinics ensuring that the training is tested in the heat of genuine competition. In a developmental sense therefore the site provides a considerable resource.
We would hate to think that the whole site was a seething cauldron of competition and rigorous development, we are committed to enjoyment and if your idea of an ideal mornings or afternoons enjoyment is a quiet hack through some of this nations finest countryside, we would be happy to show you our favourite routes and some of the quiet unspoilt lanes and tracks that bless this part of the world. For the quiet rider, if you know where you are going, the sight of Roe and Fallow Deer is a high probability, for those with sharper eyes the pretty little Muntjac may be spotted. The opportunity to enjoy this relatively small area of paradise is principally what persuaded us to take on the challenge of Eland Lodge; we can honestly say that although exhausted, we have not been disappointed.
