Assistant Shop Manager

Eland Lodge is a well-known equestrian establishment offering one of the best specialist equine retail stores in the UK, together with a superb competition venue and a premium livery facility.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in retail/sales, an in-depth knowledge of all things equine and a desire to succeed both personally and professionally. Equine knowledge should cover all the key competition areas. IT literacy is another important requirement with the applicant being able to demonstrate competence over a range of programmes.

  • Duty manage in the absence of the shop manager
  • Champion new ways of working within the store through an open mindset and positive attitude
  • Leads colleagues in delivery of task prioritising the customer first
  • Drives on the job productivity
  • Supports colleagues through coaching and feedback
  • Provides relevant and timely feedback to shop manager to support colleague performance
  • Cash handling responsibilities

  • Stock inventory

Apprentice Customer Service Advisor

We have an exciting vacancy in our retail store here at Eland Lodge for somebody to join our thriving and successful business. If you’re looking for an opportunity to combine your customer service skills with your passion for all things equine, then this could be the ideal job for you!

Duties of the job include:

  • Providing excellent customer service to a range of customers
  • Using the till
  • Putting stock on and checking the stock system
  • Tidying and help merchandise the shop
  • Answering the phone
  • Fitting riding safety wear
  • Advising customers on equestrian products/brands
  • Occasionally serving in the coffee shop
  • You’ll be provided with lots of on the job training, giving you the chance to grow your skills and experience in a knowledgeable and supportive equine environment

This is an Apprenticeship position, where you will be working towards achieving the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship.

You'll work 5 days a week from 8.45am - 5.30pm. This will be on a rota basis Monday - Sunday.
