Eland Lodge Equine Influenza Protocols

Updated on 01/03/2019 (for our most recent update please click here)

In light of the current situation with equine influenza, Eland Lodge has taken advice from British Eventing, British Dressage and British Showjumping.

To comply with each Governing Body, the following rules will apply from 04/03/19:

For British Eventing, Unaffiliated One Day Events, Elandlodge.com Hunter Trials, Clear Round Cross Country and Arena Eventing the horse must have received a recent booster injection within the six calendar months prior to the horse arriving at the competition. We would also draw your attention to BE Rule 10.2.4. No relevant injection may have been given on the day of competition. This means that injections can be given in the week running up to an event and therefore a seven day window is not necessary under BE rules.

For British Dressage and Unaffiliated Dressage the horse must be up to date with their vaccinations. If it's been longer than six months since the last vaccination, we strongly recommend discussing a booster with your vet. Remember that under BD rules the full course or booster must have been administered at least seven days before the competition.

For British Showjumping and Unaffiliated Showjumping the horse must be up to date with their vaccinations. British Showjumping continue to strongly recommend that horses attending events have a booster if their last vaccination was more than six months ago.

Eland Lodge site rules for clinics and facility hire, including hiring the cross country course, arena eventing facilities, showjumping, flatwork arena or dressage boards: horses must have received a recent booster injection within the six calendar months prior to the horse arriving on site.
