The Sprenger KK Ultra Universal Double-Jointed Gag is very versatile and particularly popular with showjumpers and eventers. Ideal for sensitive horses it offers control without severity or discomfort, leading to a higher level of acceptance. KK Ultra bits create the best possible effect in the horse’s mouth, the ergonomically designed mouthpiece takes up less room in the mouth without interfering with the palate.
The mouthpiece promotes a high level of responsiveness by an optimum contact resulting in relaxation and submissiveness. The middle link also known as the bean or lozenge is shortened and angled forward by 45degrees this unique angle is the only way to get a true contact to the tongue, therefore when a contact is taken the mouthpiece rolls smoothly over the horse’s tongue and stimulates it in a gentle but effective way. Clearly defined aids can therefore be given through the reins without squeezing or pinching the tongue.
The mouthpiece is made from SENSOGAN, a patented bit material for a sensitive connection to the horse. The innovative mix of materials including the micronutrient manganese and a reduced copper content increases the horses chewing activity and salivation in a targeted manner. Sensogan achieves optimal concentration, calmness and relaxation with horses being much more willing to perform. Sensogan bits are particularly suitable for sensitive horses, they are also toxicologically tested, have high compatibility and are exceptionally well tolerated and easy to clean. All Sensogan bits are marked with directional arrows at the cheeks. The lever action has a slight delay due to the lateral offset position of the upper ring. Cross-country riders often prefer to add a curb-strap to get more direct action.
